The Vice President, Administration (VPA) is responsible for developing administrative processes, systems, and growth and stabilization strategies across organizational boundaries, fostering greater multidisciplinary collaboration. The VPA will work closely and collaboratively with the leadership teams of St. Jude, ensuring transparency and accountability of administrative infrastructure. Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, the VPA is a key member of the administrative senior leadership team, providing intellectual engagement and influence on service area plans and challenges, and is instrumental in leading assessment and resolution efforts. Partners directly with EVP/CAO leadership team including Human Resources, Information Services, Campus Operations, Security, and Emergency Management.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead complex and budget planning and analysis that informed the annual budget build and long-range planning efforts for the EVP/CAO team. Ensure administrative capital and financial expenses are appropriately supported and managed, and all operations are conducted in a manner that promotes the most efficient use of all human and capital resources. Using benchmarking and relevant market data, develop, advance, and deploy appropriate dashboard and other management tools across the enterprise to promote administrative service excellence and efficiency Provide operational and project leadership for agreed-upon annual goals and objectives for service areas within the EVP/CAO portfolio Working with other senior leaders across the institute, support execution of administration-dependent strategic initiatives in research, cancer center, clinical operations, and global medicine Implement enterprise-wide policies and procedures, serving as institutional level general administrator and general advocate for application product rationalization where most beneficial Refine and unify administrative infrastructure, enabling a high level of support for institute programs and activities while also ensuring sound fiscal stewardship In partnership with counterparts in clinical operations, develop and manage contract performance management tools to maintain compliance with regulatory authorities. May lead selection and negotiation process for certain contracts. Engage business unit leaders in shared monitoring and joint performance reporting to senior management Participate in meetings on behalf of the EVP/CAO, assisting in program planning, pro forma development, implementation, and evaluation
Minimum Education:
Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field required
