The Credit Analyst IIis accountable for supporting the commercial and agricultural loan officers by conducting credit investigations, analyzing credit information pertaining to loans, and conducting ongoing financial monitoring and annual reviews. This position works closely with the banks commercial and agricultural loan officers, as well as other members of the credit department, in the execution of day to day activities.
- Completes accurate and consistent financial statement spreads, quarterly trend analysis, covenant tests, stress tests, and collateral reviews in accordance with established standards and credit policies.
- Assists with portfolio management by tracking credit approval requirements, monitoring loans, collecting and analyzing financial/credit information to ensure loan is secure, preparing reports, and escalating issues.
- Prepares collateral appraisals on loans under $250K, conducts a review of the information and makes an assessment on the information collected, offers opinions concerning credit-worthiness, and prepares follow up questions to pass to loan officer to address with customers.
- Executes and ensures accurate initial setup of loans in systems and conducts ongoing maintenance.
- Completes annual loan reviews.
- Maintain all credit files with sufficient documentation to meet audit requirements.
- Maintain and report on scorecard metrics.
- Occasionally participates in sales calls.
- Conduct floor plan checks.
- Collects on past due loans.
- Develops and implements small projects
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned and requested.
Key Competency Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Business or Finance-related field
- 4-7 year of related experience/exposure within the banking industry
- Demonstrates aptitude for mathematical and/or financial transactions
- Demonstrates strong analytical thinking skills
- Demonstrates ability to execute day to day work under general supervision
- Demonstrates strong customer service skills (customer-oriented)
- Demonstrates ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and multi-task daily job duties
- Demonstrates ability to address basic to moderately complex job related/technical issues and problems with guidance, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrates ability to develop and execute small to medium-term functional and/or cross-functional projects
- Demonstrates strong team collaboration/team work skills, with ability to work in diverse teams and build/maintain positive working relationships
- Demonstrates ability to interact efficiently with Technology and utilize common office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and related applications; willingness to learn new technologies
