Position Summary:

The Supervisor, Logistics SEC responsible for managing all SEC and Academy Logistics processes. The Supervisor, Logistics SEC manages the process flow of all Receiving, Inventory, and Shipping transactions within the department and delegating responsibilities and instructions per the department Manager.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Leads and coordinates material handler team in receiving, storage, packing, and/or order fulfillment operations requiring knowledge of material logistics processes, internal inventory systems including ORACLE & CORESTORE.
  • Assigns work to utilize available skills, knowledge, and experience, to the best advantages to obtain most favorable costs, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Provides regular training, instruction, and guidance and maintains close surveillance over larger, more critical transfers, orders, or receipts.
  • Analyzes and diagnoses problems and malfunctions to expedite and coordinate corrective procedures and to prevent excessive downtime and interrupted schedules.
  • Communicates daily with management.
  • Recommend new processes, methods of storage, or recording and coordinates changes with relevant personnel.
  • Delegates research and investigates inventory discrepancies and works to ensure that future discrepancies are minimized.
  • Maintains appropriate levels of labor in accordance with skill requirements, work levels and schedules, and training programs. Maintains conformance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain Inventory Accuracy above 99% for all assigned sub inventory locations.
  • Maintain daily put away.
  • Ensure cycle counting is completed.
  • Ensure picking is completed.
  • Ensure shipments are processed.
  • Ensure receipts are completed same day as received.
  • Ensure inter-org transfers are received.
  • Other duties as required.


Education/Experience & Skills:



  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED plus 1-3 years previous experience; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5- 10 years' experience as a supervisor.
  • Must have the ability to respond and manage to quick changing requirements under a high stress environment.
  • Strong customer service focus; proven leadership capabilities, mentoring, and management expertise.
  • Processes and internal inventory systems such as Oracle a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (i.e.. Outlook).
  • Computer experience including MS Office.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to follow established policies and procedures, and work with limited direct direction supervision.
  • Willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.


Working Conditions:



  • Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
  • Work is primarily standing (90 + % of the shift) except for lunch and break periods.
  • Shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours.
  • The duties of this job normally require exposure to a typical manufacturing environment. Frequent standing, sitting, stooping/squatting, walking, and stair climbing can be expected along with frequent lifting and/or moving of tooling, parts containers, and materials up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to reach with hands and arms, bend and kneel frequently at a minimum of 50% of the shift, as well as undergo repetitive wrist, hand, elbow, shoulder, and ankle motions.
  • Must demonstrate proficient fine motor skills, ability to grip, reach, pull, turn, and use tools to torque fixtures in various machinery or in the assembly, machining, or testing of parts.
  • Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception, and the ability to focus on fine print.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
  • Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. security mandates.
