Description:

The Senior Marketing Associate is responsible for developing materials and communications in alignment with the firm's marketing and business development goals. Holds primary responsibility in a specific market sector(s), providing proactive project management and creative leadership in the collaborative development of pursuit related materials including proposals, qualification packages, positioning materials, client presentations, and additional supporting collateral or campaigns. Serves as a resource to company operations and support teams, and mentors marketing colleagues.


Essential Functions:

  • Holds primary responsibility for one or more market sectors and leads capture planning efforts for assigned sectors.
  • Serves as the main point of contact and project manager for comprehensive campaigns for strategic pursuits, coordinating with other internal resources to deliver high quality materials / messaging.
  • Leads the planning and development of high-quality responses to requests for proposals and qualifications
  • Independently or in collaboration with Marketing Support Staff, composes, edits, and produces all forms of project pursuit materials including letters, proposals, presentations, leave behinds, reports, articles, and other materials
  • Develops and manages graphic, proposal, supporting material, and other applicable standards
  • Coordinates with other internal departments to create or review materials
  • Coordinates the collection of information for pursuits and communicates proactively with pursuit team regarding task assignments and scheduling to prioritize work elements in order to consistently deliver materials on time
  • Proactively reviews proposal/submittal opportunities to determine scope, submittal requirements, format, and schedule
  • Schedules meetings, conference calls, pursuit related planning, etc. to facilitate completion of tasks
  • Coordinates and assists with interview preparations, rehearsals, and support materials as needed
  • Identifies and manages background research needs for target markets, projects, and potential clients
  • Coordinates with vendors for photography, printing, marketing materials, and other marketing needs as required
  • May manage input of project and team member information in marketing database and Client Relationship Management database
  • May develop and maintain pursuit related analytics, metrics, and work processes
  • May manage the distribution of pursuit responsibilities throughout the marketing staff and reassign tasks as needed to prioritize work elements to consistently deliver materials on time
  • Manages projects in an efficient and effective manner to achieve project goals
  • Assists in the training of marketing support staff as needed
  • Uses expertise and experience to mentor marketing support staff
  • Actively participates in professional organizations (i.e., serve on a board) and industry events to improve industry knowledge, develop relationships, and enhance the professional image of the firm

  • Comprehensive knowledge of SSR practices, services, and markets
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Knowledge of marketing, branding, design, advertising, and sales practices
  • Knowledge of Client Relationship Management Software
  • Knowledge of project pursuit and corporate communication formats
  • Knowledge of Strategic Planning Techniques

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • A four-year degree in Marketing, Communications, PR/Advertising or a related field
  • Eight years of experience in customer service, marketing, sales, or public relations OR six years of experience in the AEC industry
  • Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) preferred
