Hill International is seeking a Scheduler in Valencia, California

Under the direction of LACMTA's Project Manager and the Project Controls Manager, the Cost Engineer shall review and provide comment on the contractor's critical path method schedule, develop and maintain an owner's completion schedule that integrates all project milestones and deliverables, including incorporating a contractors detailed critical path method schedule into an overall program schedule for a project. CPM Scheduler shall support the Project Manager with progress reporting including coordination with grant funding and necessary reporting, schedule updates, forecast to complete, variance identification, and opportunities for improvement.


  • Develop an integrated master schedule within Primavera that reflects all interface milestones and activity durations from multiple contractors' schedules and maintain changes to the integrated master schedule.
  • Support project management with scheduling deliverables as follows:
    • Develop and maintain cost loaded and integrated project master schedule, control level schedule and detailed schedules.
    • Identify key activities, milestones, constraints, and interfaces for coordination purposes.
    • Establish and monitor the schedule critical path and assess and report on schedule variances.
  • Assisting the Project Controls Manager in the production of weekly / monthly reports in line with the project, Metro, and any oversight agency reporting calendars, providing details on progress, actuals, forecast and explanation of variances.
  • Ensure that scheduling processes are consistently applied across the project.
  • Perform schedule time impact analysis of potential delay items and provide recommendations for delay mitigation.
  • Develop schedule contingency analysis. Perform contingency drawdown analysis as part of forecasting and trend analysis.
  • Evaluate schedule trends and develop mitigation measures to deliver projects on-time. Monitor and control program compliance in respect to the projects overall contractual obligations.
  • Identify detrimental issues and recommend mitigations to those issues as it relates to budget, cost, risk, claims, and schedule activities.
  • Assist the Project Controls Manager in maximizing the potential of the project.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Proven track record of effective communication within team and with stakeholders.
  • An experienced user of the relevant software, tools, techniques, with expert knowledge in the Primavera suite of programs.
  • Proven track record of development of project schedules from the ground up, with scheduling experience on a construction project in excess of $250M.
  • Experience in the implementation of Earned Value Management based Project Control systems, in accordance with relevant national standards.
  • Engineering degree or construction management degree is preferred.
  • Experience working on highway projects, intently Caltrans roadway construction.
  • Practical ability to utilize critical project management concepts (e.g. EVM, project planning, risk analysis, configuration management).
  • Computer literate with deep experience in Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to teach and/or tutor staff in the use of Office applications.

The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $185,000. The offered salary will be based on the applicants qualifications, education, experience and work location.
