Summary

The MIL Corporation is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Software Engineer (Software Engineering, Junior Analyst) to join our dynamic development team. As a Junior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications.

This position supports a Federal Government client from our Lexington Park, MD location and currently requires an on-site schedule with 5 days on-site. Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Software Development: Assist in coding, debugging, and implementing software applications in various programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, or JavaScript
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Participate in the testing and quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability and performance of software applications
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for software projects, including design specifications, user manuals, and technical reports
  • Collaboration: Work closely with senior developers, project managers, and other team members to understand project requirements and contribute to the development process
  • Learning and Development: Continuously improve your technical skills by staying up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and technologies

Travel

Total travel is expected to be approximately 10% to CONUS sites

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C++, or JavaScript)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with team members
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing project requirements

Desired Qualifications

  • Internship or prior work experience in software development
  • Understanding of penetration testing, multilevel security architecture, and cross domain solutions
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), integrated development environments (IDEs), and software development methodologies (e.g., Agile)

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college.

Clearance

All applicants for this position must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; please note that the clearance process takes into account financial background aspects.

For this position, the projected compensation range is $65,000 - $85,000 per year. This estimate represents the typical salary range and is just one part of MIL's complete compensation package.
