Job Title: Quality Control Manager City: Columbus State: OH JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Develop and implement project/scope-specific
Quality Control Plan. Serve as a subject matter expert on the phases of quality control and types of inspections: - Ensure subcontractors are abiding by the
Quality Control Plan. - Lead and document quality control meetings
with project team members. - Lead kick-off meetings, pre-installation
meetings and mock-up and "first of a kind work" review meetings. - Communicate and act as team lead with all
trades, subcontractors, engineers, owners, operators. - Manage daily quality inspections: compare
materials and construction works in the field to the specifications, contractual documents, regulations/codes and applicable standards. - Manage material and equipment (including Owner
Furnished/Contractor Installed OFCI equipment) delivery inspections, involving project team members as needed. - Provide daily QC reports, direct activities
that are in conformance with specifications and standards and constructively confront non-conformance issues with subcontractors. - Write non-conforming/deficiency reports when
work is not performed as per specifications, regulations and contract documents or non-compliant materials are delivered. - Exercise full authority in field to
stop/reject work; reject delivered materials and/or equipment; instruct withholding payment from subcontractors for non-conforming work; and direct the removal and replacement of any work not in compliance with contract documents, codes, standards. - Serve as a subject-matter expert in project
drawings, specifications/contractual obligations and responsibilities, scopes delineations, and applicable codes/regulations. - Work closely with project engineers to prepare
Requests for Information to provide directions to proceed for subcontractors and vendors, when same is not part of existing documentation. - Establish and Manage Definable Features of
Work (DFOW) for each specific scope. - Establish and manage Inspection and Testing
Procedures (ITPs) for specific scopes/trades inspections as per specifications. - Master use of construction management and QCQA
documentation software to include Procore, Autodesk BIM360 Field, Bluebeam, VDC Software (Naviswork). - Foster safety culture on projects, actively
contributing to achieving zero injuries goal. - Manage relationships with owners,
architects/engineers, subcontractors and state and county inspectors, third party inspectors.
#LI-MF1 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and 8 years of experience in the job offered or 8 years of experience in the Related Occupation. RELATED OCCUPATION: Project Engineer or any other job title performing the following job duties:
- Project Management, Coordinate with the
contractors, consultants, designers, vendors. Project logistic and planning, multiple trades' field coordination. (Construction Project Management based on coordination of all aspects of the Construction Project such as field work, design documentation, shop drawings, approved products and equipment. Use specialized software: Procore, Autodesk BIM360 Field, Bluebeam, VDC Software-Naviswork, Onware) - Quality Control and Quality Assurance.
Managing trade partners scopes to bring their product to be as per contractual documentation, design, specifications, codes and standards requirements. Utilizing specialized software like Autodesk BIM360 Field, Procore - Constructability reviews. Reviewing design
documents, comparing with shop drawings material and equipment Submittals to evaluate constructability of specific trade's scope. Presenting results in comprehensive Constructability Reports. Utilizing LEED AP certification. - Safety supervision. Manage and control of
safety practices exercised by trade partners. Reviewing Safety Plans. Participating in Pre-Task Plannings, Job Hazard Analysis. Conducting regular Safety Inspections, preparing inspection reports. Utilizing multiyear experience in safety management and control and STSC (Safety Supervisor in Construction) certification. - Contracts management and engineering. Budget
and cost management and control, managing variations, change management. Managing and administering trade partners contracts. Managing Submittals and RFIs as per contractual and design requirements. Using specialized construction project management software tools like Procore, SAP, Onware - Procurement management and cost control. Set
tendering strategy, preparing and executing tenders. Budget alignment of trades packages, value engineering initiatives to stay within planned budget.
