Responsibilities

The Production Scheduler is directly responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring progress to plan for the production activities at the manufacturing site. Primary responsibilities include reviewing demand for finished goods, inventory across the network, materials availability, equipment capacities, and creating production order documents for manufacturing personnel to ensure the right products are available, at the right time, in the right location, in the right quantities to service our customers.

Coordinate with plant production personnel, warehouse staff, procurement, and corporate planning department to translate product demand into an actionable production schedule at the manufacturing plant. Work closely with production teams to plan work assignments each day.

Creates production orders in SAP, prepares applicable paperwork, and distributes information to production and warehouse stakeholders.

Tracks production results to plan. Identifies, recommends, and communicates changes needed based on review of supply, demand, and inventory levels. Participates in cross-functional meetings to relay production status as well as receive information impacting local manufacturing site production plans.

Be a decision maker and problem solver for the site. Will be required to make critical decisions to maximize efficiency and manpower and to troubleshoot scheduling issues as they occur. Has fundamental knowledge of the department operations so can act as resource to troubleshoot issues, remove roadblocks, and identify/implement improvements.

Engaging teams to cultivate improvement and efficiency suggestions.

Write, review, and update work instructions to support consistent production performance.

Utilizes 5S, Lean and Continuous Improvement methodology to identify, implement, and sustain process improvements.

Files production documentation appropriately.

May provide supervision of less senior staff assigned to support production scheduling activities.

Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications

Previous production scheduling experience (2+ years) strongly preferred, preferably in a chemical or consumer goods facility.

Associate's degree preferred.

Competency and confidence utilizing applicable computerized systems such as MS Office Excel, Outlook, Word, SAP. Strong Excel knowledge with data analysis experience required.

Thorough understanding of material flow concepts throughout facility

Must be well organized, accurate, detail-oriented and a self-starter.

Good verbal, written and telephone communications skills.

Demonstrated ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

Attention to detail

Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed per business

APICS certification a plus.

Frequent sitting, occasional standing and walking required.
