Material Planner II What You'll Do:

As a Material Planner II, you will take on a more senior role in the procurement and inventory management of materials to support production operations and meet customer demand. You will leverage your experience and expertise to optimize supply chain processes, manage inventory levels, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Functions:

Develop and implement material planning strategies and tactics to optimize inventory levels, minimize stockouts, and reduce excess inventory costs.

Analyze demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory data to generate accurate material requirements plans (MRP) and ensure timely procurement of materials.

Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and lead times, and establish strong relationships to ensure reliable and cost-effective supply of materials.

Monitor and track supplier performance metrics, including on-time delivery, quality, and lead time variability, and take proactive measures to address any issues or discrepancies.

Assist cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements and efficiency gains in materials planning, procurement, and inventory management.

Conduct regular inventory analysis and optimization activities, including ABC/XYZ analysis, safety stock calculation, and inventory segmentation, to optimize inventory levels and reduce carrying costs.

Required Qualifications:

Associate degree or 3-5 years of experience and HSD Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, materials management best practices, and inventory control techniques.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel skills for materials planning, data analysis, and reporting.

Experience in SAP as an MRP systems Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.

Experience driving process improvements and implementing efficiency gains in materials planning and inventory management.

Preferred Skills:

Certification or advanced training in supply chain management or materials planning (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP).

Experience with demand planning software, forecasting tools, and advanced analytics techniques. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement methodologies, and Six Sigma concepts.

Familiarity with procurement processes, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management. Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is a plus.
