Georgia State University's Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning, and Online Education (CETLOE) is looking for a skilled Instructional Design Specialist to help develop and improve courses and programs across all modalities. Partnering with faculty, multimedia specialists, learning analysts, learning technology specialists, and other experts, CETLOE learning experience designers provide leadership critical to creating meaningful, immersive, learner-centered courses that are a joy to teach and take full advantage of the affordances of modern learning technologies. Applying their expertise in learning design, pedagogy and andragogy, and technology, CETLOE learning experience designers are a key part of Georgia State University's comprehensive efforts to improve student success and deliver top-notch learning experiences.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

* Use superior communication and relationship-building strategies, coordinate the design and development of course-level design experiences across all modalities.
* Design and develop learning experiences using design thinking methods, learning theory, project management principles, and effective practices in learning design.
* Develop and carry out plans that align learning needs to teaching and assessment strategies, tools, and media.
* Use established criteria, evaluate the quality of online learning experiences and aligned recommendations.
* Lead and manage course-level curriculum mapping and design initiatives.
* Consult with faculty, administrators, and other stakeholders on effective practices in course design and delivery
* Remain current with emerging design theory, practices, and technologies and their integration into educational environments

Qualifications :

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

* Experience working as a learning experience designer or learning experience designer in a higher education, K-12, or corporate setting.
* Advanced knowledge of learning design principles and effective practices applicable to traditional, online, and hybrid learning experience design.
* Expertise in aligning learning needs to teaching and assessment strategies, tools, and media.
* Experience applying curriculum mapping strategies and techniques.
* Experience using data to inform continuous improvement.
* Experience consulting with diverse stakeholders.
* Experience developing and leading workshops.
* Advanced demonstrated proficiency using learning management systems, collaboration and communication tools, and other technologies that promote student engagement and learning.
* Experience leading collaborative project teams in a deadline-driven environment.
* Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
* Excellent relationship skills.
* Ability to adapt quickly to changing goals and expectations.
