Position Summary
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

Kenan-Flagler is divided into seven academic areas: Accounting; Management Communications; Strategy and Entrepreneurship; Finance; Marketing; Operations; and Organizational Behavior. The Faculty Executive Coordinator works for one of these seven academic areas. The position is responsible for providing critical administrative support for a variety of faculty, students, and affiliated personnel in matters related to the area concentration. This includes providing administrative support to the Area Chair, scheduling meetings, planning conferences and events, assisting visiting faculty and scholars, and sending communications on behalf of the academic area. The Faculty Executive Coordinator represents the academic area and serves as a liaison for the Area Chair to a variety of internal and external constituents, including other area faculty, programs, and KFBS Dean's office.Additionally, this position is responsible for the essential business operations of the academic area. This includes supporting the Area Chair in creation and implementation of an annual budget, handling all invoicing and reconciliations, handling all area procurement, and managing area budgets and resources appropriately. The Faculty Executive Coordinator additionally supports the academic mission of the area concentration by ensuring adequate faculty classroom scheduling and coverage, resource scheduling and availability, updating course and curriculum information, and the management of departmental teacher assistants and other student employees.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or Associate's degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience ; or Bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Ability to multitask and work effectively within a highly dynamic and varied environment; Knowledge of routine office technology and software; Experience in budget management, word processing, spreadsheets, database and/or web applications; Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Prior experience in academic program administration in higher education.
