Purchasing and Inventory CoordinatorPosition Purpose

Responsible for all matters related to purchase orders for their respective vendors and is viewed as a company expert for their vendors. This position processes approximately 1,500 purchase orders annually which equates to $50+ million in annual purchases. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to ordering, pricing, freight coordination, and a liaison between multiple internal departments and vendors

Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator Essential Functions



  • Communicates and supports the Kirby Smith vision and core values of One Mission, One Team, One Plan, One Goal
  • Purchases equipment and attachments
  • Provides quotes to Sales Department as needed
  • Coordinates the delivery of equipment
  • Maintains appropriate inventory levels by branch as set by manager
  • Communicates on-order status to management and appropriate Sales representatives
  • Accurately codes manufacturer, freight, and warranty invoices
  • Maintains equipment Sales files
  • Works directly with Sales and Rental departments to ensure the right machines and attachments are in appropriate locations
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
  • Ensures consistent and reliable on-site attendance


Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator Minimum Qualifications



  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Three (3) years' experience in a Sales related environment with purchasing experience preferred
  • Two (2) years in the heavy equipment industry preferred
  • Exceptional Interpersonal skills and excellentcommunication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams
  • Ability to travel required


Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator Physical Requirements



  • Lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds without assistance
  • The ability to drive locally and to sit for long periods
