POSITION SUMMARY:
To perform professional and technical duties involved in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including 12-lead ECG, all types of ambulatory external ECG monitoring, transtelephonic pacemaker analysis, and in-office and remote monitoring of cardiac implantable electronic devices. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required unless a minimum of 3 years existing experience as a Device Technician. Successful completion of a Device Technician training course preferred. EXPERIENCE: Current experience as a Device Technician or successful completion of training as a Device Technician required. SPECIAL SKILLS: Effective interaction and communication (oral, writing, presenting) skills. Ability to perform work accurately and pay attention to details, changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Ability to function competently in stressful situations and changing working environment related to changing patient needs. Ability to work cooperatively within the Practice and with patients, family members, co-workers. Ability to utilize effective time management to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergency situations. Ability to use analytical and critical thinking skills to effectively problem-solve. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw interpret bar graphs. Demonstrates knowledge of Database software, Internet software and Word Processing software.
