Join our clinical team as the Health Information Coordinator at Shannondale of Maryville, a new Covenant Living Community. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the key health information of the skilled care customers, procurement, and medical supplies and inventory. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage healthcare customer records * Maintain and updated electronic and paper healthcare records, ensuring they are complete, accurate, and stored securely. * Review documentation of the care team to ensure completion of records. Data entry and processing * Enter customer data into electronic health records (E.H.R.) system, update medical histories, and monitor for accurate information. * Manage daily census verification process. Compliance and Regulations * Ensure all health information practices comply with healthcare regulations of the skilled care operation such as HIPAA, and other privacy practices. * Maintain periodic statical reports and confidentiality regarding customer issues and copy and release information from health records according to policy and procedures. Procurement * Maintains medical supply inventory, ordering supplies through organization approved vendors, responsible for managing facility medical equipment. Medical coding * Apply correct medical codes to diagnoses and procedures to support accurate billing and insurance claims. * Is a key member of the triple check process. Collaboration * Works closely with physicians, nurses, insurance companies and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate information exchange. * Serves as a key role on the Quality Assurance Committee. QUALIFICATIONS: * 3-or more years of demonstrated professional experiences in health information management, medical records. Certification such as RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) preferred but required. * Associates degree preferred * Attention to detail, strong ability to manage large volumes of data accurately and efficiently. * Proficient in EHR systems and supply ordering and management systems. * Knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare procedures, diagnoses, medical coding (ICD-10, CPT). * Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
