Crissair, Inc. is looking for an experienced Controller with previous manufacturing experience to provide leadership and oversight of all financial functions.

Summary

The Controller will oversee all financial functions, including GAAP accounting, financial planning, and analysis for a manufacturing company. This role requires strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills, as well as proficiency in IT systems, ERP, and Excel. The Controller will support the CFO and local management, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, developing and improving financial processes through automation and data analytics.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other tasks and duties may be required as directed.

General Accounting Responsibilities:

* Oversee the preparation and analysis of balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

* Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.

* Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll functions.

* Oversee cost accounting, including standard cost updates, project cost updates, and inventory provision reviews.

* Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor departmental budgets.

* Monitor preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns, payroll tax, W-2s, and 1099s.

* Monitor preparation of bank reconciliation and capital asset accounting.

* Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

* Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Responsibilities:

* Prepare forecasts of the profit and loss statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.

* Assist senior management in creating an annual financial plan and a 5-year strategic plan.

* Support CFO with monthly reporting requirements and financial analysis.

* Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and variances.

* Provide financial advice and guidance to assist management with key decisions.

* Support the CFO with analysis of capital purchases and investment opportunities.

* Prepare and update monthly and quarterly PowerPoint presentations and financial exhibits.

* Conduct special studies to analyze complex financial actions and prepare recommendations for policy, control, or action.

* Proactively develop and execute solutions that satisfy the needs of the business and improve financial metrics.

* Make recommendations to management regarding cost savings, profit-generating opportunities, profitability improvement, and working capital reduction strategies.

Audit and Compliance Responsibilities:

* Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.

* Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors.

* Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.

* Ensure full compliance with SOX and audit requirements.

* Assist organization with compliance of FASB / ASC 606-Revenue Recognition standard.

* Update and implement financial policies and procedures.

* Provide guidance and support pertaining to the application and interpretation of division and corporate financial policies, government legislation, and accounting theory (GAAP, FASB, etc.).

Qualification Requirements

Education/Experience

* Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university in accounting or related field; with 7-10 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.

* Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.

* CPA preferred.

* Background includes FP&A and budgeting.

* Proficiency in preparing consolidated financial statements.

* Experience in cost accounting and inventory management.

* Exceptional leadership abilities with 7+ years of experience leading an accounting department.

* Must be proficient in PowerPoint presentations both written and verbally.

* Must be able to summarize results of Operations, Balance Sheet and Cash flow in 25 words or less on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis with meaningful insight.

Language Skills

* Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.

* Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

* Ability to write in simple correspondence.

* Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.

* Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

* Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

* Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

* Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, employees, and the general public.
