SUMMARY

In accordance with the Grady Health System Policies & Procedures and the EMS operations manual, to provide 911 and NET oversight of daily operations during the assigned shift when a Manager or Supervisor are not available. To demonstrate complete knowledge of communication center operations to include receiving, processing, and dispatching requests for emergency medical services within the Grady response zone. Assume responsibility for decision-making regarding operations in the absence of the Communications Manager or SSC Supervisor. To act as a role model, demonstrate leadership skills and a high level of competence. Demonstrate understanding of all response zones in the division. To ensure all on-line vehicles and equipment are in an acceptable state of readiness at all times. Accountable for exemplifying excellent service behavior and timely responsiveness to co-workers, patients, clients, visitors, physicians, and vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English
  • Two years experience as a System Status Controller or System Status Controller Supervisor in a high performance EMS system preferred or a minimum of one year experience as System Status Controller within Grady Health System
  • Prior use of computer aided dispatch programs preferred. Experience with TriTech, VisiCad system desired
  • NAED Medical Priority EMD certification required
  • APCO Communication Training Officer Certification preferred or can be obtained within six months of job date
