We are looking for a Data Analyst Intern for our growing practice. Pharmacy benefits consulting work is, by nature, constantly changing and rarely routine. Applicants should feel be comfortable working in an environment that requires attention to detail, collaboration, integrity, and adaptability.

This position is within the pharmacy benefits consulting team of Milliman's San Diego Health Practice. The team primarily serves plan sponsors who are contracted with PBMs to provide pharmacy benefits. We help plan sponsors work with their PBMs to deliver a high level of service to their members while also managing costs.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will clean and analyze data related to health and pharmacy benefits. You may implement software solutions, apply statistical techniques, and develop actuarial models. This position offers an excellent entry point into healthcare benefits consulting, actuarial consulting, and data analytics.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Clean and analyze data related to health and pharmacy benefits
  • Develop highly sought-after technical skills using tools such as Microsoft Excel and T-SQL
  • Conduct research related to health and pharmacy benefits
  • Collaborate closely with consultants, actuaries, and analysts on special projects and daily tasks


What We Are Looking For

Preferred Qualifications



  • Completed or actively pursuing a bachelor's degree
  • Proficient in MS Excel; R or Python programming knowledge a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The Team

The San Diego Health practice includes employees with diverse areas of experience and expertise in the pharmacy space. Current employees include actuaries, PBM analysts/consultants, pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians.

Location

The expected application deadline for this job is February 7, 2025. This position is based out of the Milliman office in San Diego, California. Candidates hired into this role must be willing to work onsite full-time.

Compensation

The hourly pay rate for this role ranges from $21 - $36, depending on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
