Assists with the development and implementation of special events. Facilitates production of events by communicating with vendors, guests, internal staff and customers.

Major/Essential Functions


  • In collaboration with administration and Honors College staff, coordinate College-level events. Support Coordinator for Engagement in College-level events that support the College House System.
  • Manage all aspects of planning and executing events within the Honors College.
  • Work across campus and community partners facilitate successful events.
  • Work with the Associate Director of Systems and Administration to create event budgets, invoices, and payments.
  • Working with vendors on caterers, decorators, music, etc.
  • Manage the setup/cleanup of the event, including decor, flyers (when appropriate), entertainment, transportation, and invitee lists.
  • Facilitate parking passes as needed for guest speakers, entertainment, etc.
  • Attend Monday Huddle meetings to communicate about events and support College-level staff events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree plus one year related experience; OR a combination of education and/or related experience equal to five years.

Preferred Qualifications

Two years' work experience involving detailed work and event planning.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to handle large volume of work.
Demonstrated ability to work with students, customers or clients.

Pay Statement
