Description
Sigma Defense is seeking a Software Developer/Engineer with Product Owner experience to provide the government with support for a Navy software factory. The FORGE is a modernization effort to deliver cutting-edge software development practices and technologies to the Feet. There is a heavy emphasis on modern practices such as leveraging containerization in both production and development environments for full-stack application and services. This role will work with the Government and contractor teams to develop software products that will directly support Navy and FORGE professionals. Requirements
- 4-6 years of software developing experience.
- 1-2 years product owner experience.
- Experience with any standard programming language, e.g., Java, GoLang, Rust, Containerization, etc.
- Ability to quickly learn new languages and design paradigms.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working as part of an Agile development team.
- Basic technical diagram comprehension skills, e.g., UML, sequence diagrams.
- Basic knowledge of Linux and containerization technologies.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, related field of study.
Personnel Clearance Level:
- Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.
Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):
- Follow the Agile software development life-cycle.
- Assist with the design and implementation of full-stack software services and UI Applications.
- Analyze, debug, and optimize code.
- Create unit tests.
- Act as Product Owner:
- Responsible for the product development and delivery of releases in line with the scope of capability development work Packages, Stream-Line Solution Work Packages, and solution work packages, via a set of combat system product features, to provide warfighter value as part of the Operator's integrated experience.
- Responsible for owning the vision, description, roadmap, milestones, deliverables, timelines, and high-level product requirements, for all product features that fall under their product scope.
- Describe the vision and make final decisions around the product system and operator use cases, the purpose and function of the capability or products as they pertain to the overall product, product work scope, the list of high-level product features, and priority of product features and work breakdowns.
- Meet regularly with Solution Manager, to coordinate and answer questions around product vision, objectives, and timelines, and ensure a clear understanding of the scope, purpose, and function of each product and how they relate to overall solution scope and deliverables.
- Work with teammates, other product teams, stakeholders, etc. to deconflict and align solution and product vision, description, roadmap, milestones, deliverables, timelines, and high-level solution requirements.
- Responsible for the entire life-cycle of product
Salary Range: $130,000 - $155,000 annually.
