A Divisional Training Lead at Safe Rescue, a division of SET Environmental is responsible to:



  • Be qualified to instruct employees about the subject matter that is being presented in training
  • Complete a training program for teaching the subjects they are expected to teach, or shall have the academic credentials and instructional experience necessary for teaching the subjects
  • Demonstrate competent instructional skills and knowledge of the applicable subject matter and has satisfactorily completed an instructional training program in "Train-the-trainer"
  • Establish key objectives and curriculum to accomplish objectives for each class
  • Give lectures and organize activities to present material and deepen understanding of coursework
  • Create and observe scenarios that test students' knowledge
  • Answer students' questions and provide support to help them succeed
  • Record students' attendance and involvement
  • Maintain safety policies and practices throughout the delivery of the course
  • Demonstrate all skills prior to allowing students to perform the skills in a scenario
  • Will require some regional travel for site training, 50% or greater. May be required to stay multiple days depending on the needs of the training
  • Additional miscellaneous duties as assigned


POSITION REQUIREMENTS



  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent experience preferred
  • BCSP (Board of Certified Safety Professionals) Certification (CSP, ASP, OHST) (at least one preferred)
  • Proficient understanding of OSHA regulations and how they apply to various industries
  • Understanding of the Incident Command System
  • Understanding of the history and background of the HAZWOPER program
  • Knowledge and understanding of working in both the emergency response and hazardous waste operations (Site characterization, Hazard recognition, Toxicology, Radiation, Personal protective equipment, Decontamination, Job hazard analysis, Spill response/mitigation - confinement of the effective area, control the spill, containment, clean-up)
  • Extensive knowledge, skills, and abilities in conducting OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 based training and have experience developing course content for all the HAZWOPER courses
  • Completed a significant number of hours of in person training as a lead instructor. Greater than 500 preferred.
  • Current OSHA 501 Trainer for General Industry preferred
