RN - ED Observation Unit - Roanoke - Evening/Night

The ED Observation Unit at CRMH is a 15-bed outpatient observation unit specializing in both Med/Surg and PCU patient care. The goal of this unit is to admit patients from the ED for 48 hours or less who require additional nursing care, monitoring, testing and evaluation prior to being discharged home. Nursing staff will provide care to patient populations experiencing a variety of medical illnesses and/or trauma related injuries which may include caring for those with endocrinology, neurological or cardiovascular complaints as well as patients who require minor surgeries.

This position is located at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH) in Roanoke, VA. This position is full time, working evening/night with every other weekend and holiday requirements.

Education: Graduate of school of professional nursing of an accredited college or graduate of an approved program eligible to sit for the VA licensure exam.

Experience: None.

Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed as Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure. Obtain CPR, and as needed ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications.

Other: Computer skills required for electronic medical record (EPIC). Successfully complete orientation and competency requirements. Meet essential job functions.
