Under administrative direction, responsible for the day-to-day administration of the SOM's compensation plan. Conducts job analysis and job evaluations. Conducts and participates in salary and fringe benefits surveys. Makes recommendations for changes in the SOM's compensation plans. Conducts special studies of compliance with procedures, laws and statutes, and financial impact of human resource proposals.

Examples of Duties

- Conducts job analysis and job evaluations of all SOM positions in Civil Service, Professional Administrative, and Faculty appointments.
- Reviews and analyzes position description submitted by departments, perform job evaluations based on duties performed and minimum qualifications to establish competitive pay recommendation, with consideration of the data from both internal and external sources.
- Recommends assignment to appropriate band/level and proper exemption status based on type of work, requirements and responsibilities.
- Conducts and participates in salary and fringe benefits surveys. Investigates possible labor markets and makes recommendations for position market adjustments.
- Manages, in collaboration of the Executive Director of Human Resources, the implementation of the annual salary increase programs, including those in collective bargaining agreements.
- Designs appropriate databases to record and statistically manipulate data. Assembles survey results and distributes details as appropriate.
- Serves as a vital role and makes recommendations for changes in SOM's compensation plans.
- Analyzes and manipulates survey data; compiles summary results and presents to Executive Director of Human Resources.
- Provides day-to-day administration of compensation plan.
- Comprehends and administers applicable policies and procedures and maintains awareness of current wage and hour laws and civil service statutes.
- Participates in budgeting process for wage and salary projections. Calculates costs associated with new positions. Ensures appropriate programming changes are made to wage and salary report; ensures accuracy of budgeted positions.
- Represents the SOM at meeting held by the SUCSS, or other state universities.
- Participates in special projects and performs special assignments as needed.

CREDENTIALS TO BE VERIFIED BY PLACEMENT OFFICER
- Bachelor's degree in human resources administration, labor relations, business administration or a field related to the position.
- Two (2) years of professional-level human resource experience.
