Job Summary: The Senior RF Test Engineer will be responsible for technical planning, coordinating, and conducting of test activities for Cubic Nuvotronics' innovative PolyStrata products that are used in a wide range of applications, such as telecommunication, aerospace, government, and metrology. The engineer will provide RF test expertise to address the multitude of issues related to the RF test of products and systems: test system design and development; design, development, optimization and troubleshooting of both automated test systems and solutions; creating documentation to implement test plans and procedures; timely execution of testing; analysis for compliance to product/system requirements; qualification testing; and data/yield reporting. The engineer will be a critical team member on multidisciplinary engineering teams - supporting various products and programs, contributing to key program milestone reviews, and providing Design-For-Test feedback for part designs, wafer layouts, and test optimization. This is an on-site position, 9/80 work schedule.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Propose, design, and execute test strategies of RF products/components/systems.
  • Ensure accurate, repeatable, and timely characterization of the RF performance of Nuvotronics' products/components/systems.
  • Using RF test equipment (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.) to evaluate system performance, evaluate component/system compliance, and troubleshoot operational issues. Candidate should understand a variety of calibration techniques for RF measurements (TRL/LRL, SOLT, E-Cal, etc.) for a variety of test environments (probed, on-wafer, waveguide, coaxial, connectorized, etc.)
  • Collaborate with engineering leads and RF engineers to develop system requirements. Define verification matrix and internal specifications of RF performance.
  • Provide Design-For-Test (DFT) input during the design phase of a program and the layout of wafers. Ensure that on-wafer components can be tested accurately with an eye towards reducing test touch time as components/products move towards production.
  • Identify and implement test improvements, specifically in reducing test time per part and increasing accuracy of measurement setups.
  • Develop and present test strategy at key design reviews (PDR, CDR, etc.) and prepare test plans prior to leading Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) for upcoming programs and wafers.
  • Plan and execute qualification testing, such as shock, vibration, temperature cycling, humidity, accelerated life testing, power handling, RF characterization requiring high dynamic range, etc.
  • Ensure that test solutions are developed and produced within the relevant issued quality processes
  • Coordinate with test, engineering, assembly, and production teams for resource planning.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Four-year college degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline plus a minimum of five years experience or an applicable Master's degree and three years of related experience, and or the combined equivalent of experience/education.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required to work at this DoD cleared facility.
  • Experienced with component-level RF characterization and measurement. Experience performing s-parameter measurements using a network analyzer is preferred.
  • Experience performing electrical measurements utilizing various RF/electrical test equipment, such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters, etc.
  • Demonstrated understanding of RF Engineering principles, especially with regards to passive RF components, network analysis, and the key figures of merit used to evaluate components of an RF system.
  • Experience using electromagnetic simulation tools (HFSS, Microwave Office, etc.) and data analysis tools (Matlab, JMP, etc.).
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Able to prioritize work and complete multiple tasks under deadline and budget guidelines.

Cubic Pay Range:

$118,168 - $144,427 + benefits.
