The Director of Enrollment Services provides strategic leadership and operational management to ensure the effective delivery of enrollment, advising, and student support services. This role is critical in enhancing enrollment, retention, and completion rates, aligning with institutional goals, and fostering student success. Director will facilitate service to approximately 5,000 students per term and oversee the onboarding of approximately 1,500 first-time freshmen (FTF) annually through orientation. The Director is responsible for supervision of 16 enrollment/advising staff, developing and implementing innovative student success programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and creating a culture of excellence and equity in One-Stop student services model.

Essential Duties

Leadership & Supervision

  • Manage and supervise a team of advising and enrollment staff across multiple campus locations.
  • Lead staff recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, and evaluation processes.
  • Oversee professional development, performance management, scheduling, and timesheets for 16 employees (both exempt and non-exempt).
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures for front-facing "One-Stop" Student Enrollment Services, encompassing Student Orientation, Advising, Financial Aid, and Transfer Services, designed to improve academic persistence and retention.
  • Serve as the institutional leader and voice for the ConexEd Student Services Platform to manage efficient student access and institutional collaboration for support services.
  • Ensure compliance with Higher Learning Commission (HLC) accreditation standards and uphold best practices in advising according to NACADA guidelines.

Advising & Student Success

  • Oversee the successful operation of the "One-Stop" advising model, integrating services like enrollment assistance, financial aid navigation (not Financial Aid Office), academic planning, transfer support, and student success initiatives.
  • Lead the development and delivery of New Student Orientation programs, onboarding approximately 1,500 first-time freshmen annually.
  • Lead the design and implementation of institutional vision for Advising and facilitate seamless communication/collaboration among Academics and Student Support departments (International Students, Veterans, Rehabilitation Services, Student Success, Career Pathways) to provide comprehensive wrap-around student support.
  • Lead team to implement advising best practices, facilitate integration of new approaches, and deliver training to staff and external support services.

Data & Reporting

  • Monitor advising performance and student outcomes using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Generate regular data-driven reports to assess program effectiveness and make informed adjustments to improve advising and enrollment services.
  • Maintain detailed records of student interactions to ensure service quality and support compliance.
  • Manage institutional data reporting and trend analysis using the ConexEd Student Services Platform to provide actionable data to the division/institution.

Outreach & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with academic departments to standardize best practices in advising and facilitate seamless transitions between Enrollment Services and departmental advising teams.
  • Partner with Academics, Treasury, Financial Aid, Student Success, Marketing, and New Student Relations & Community Engagement teams to design and implement initiatives that increase enrollment.
  • Establish and nurture partnerships with external organizations to support student success efforts.
  • Represent the department on institutional committees, task forces, and special projects.

Operations & Compliance

  • Provide operational deign/delivery of enrollment services for 60% of NWACC students (approximately 5,000 students each term), ensuring efficient operations and high-quality service delivery.
  • Develop and implement operational guidelines, standards, and priorities for Enrollment Services aligned to institutional vision.
  • Manage department budgets, perform cost analyses, and ensure resource efficiency.
  • Plan, monitor, and ensure compliance with institutional policies, state regulations, and federal laws, particularly related to Title IV Federal Student Aid programs.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary to support the goals and objectives of the college.

Rate of Pay $75,147 annualized

  • Ability to coordinate the activities of campus academic and/or social programs
  • Ability to evaluate collected information and formulate into recommendations
  • Ability to compile information into report form

Infrequently, exposure to louder noise levels or physical activities, such as moving lightweight materials, might be required.

Work Environment

The Director will operate across multiple campus locations, with Bentonville as the primary workstation. Flexibility to work evenings or weekends is occasionally required to meet student needs and operational goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

  • Master's degree in Higher Education, Counseling, or related field

Experience

  • At least 5 years in advising or student success, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role

Skills

  • Expertise in student development, advising best practices, and retention strategies.
  • Proficient in understanding higher education organizational practices regarding Financial Aid, Records, Student Success, Testing, Admissions, Curriculum Alignment, Disability Services, Veterans, International Students, and other services for special populations.
  • Demonstrated skills in personnel management, conflict resolution, and training/professional development.
  • Proficient in higher education systems (e.g., Workday, Banner).
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a community college setting
  • Familiarity with Higher Education accreditation standards and compliance
  • Bilingual or experience with diverse, non-traditional student populations
