Summary/Objective:

As a Warehouse team member, you will play a vital role in the efficient operation of a warehouse by handling the storage, inventory management, and shipment of goods. Responsibilities include receiving and unloading shipments, organizing inventory, picking and packing orders, and preparing items for shipping.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   1. Unload trucks using a scanner or pick list generated by Warehouse Management System.
  2. Performs all computer functions necessary to complete job.
  3. Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with department leader to rectify damages and shortages.
  4. Responsible for keeping production lines stocked with product according to schedule.
  5. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  6. Retrieve products from storage areas based on customer orders or production requirements.
  7. Pack products securely for shipment, ensuring proper protection against damage during transport.
  8. Prepare and organize outgoing shipments for delivery to customers.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily working indoors, warehouse environment.
  • May stand for several hours at a time.
  • Prolonged exposure to computer screens.
  • Repetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers, and copiers.
  • Must be comfortable going up to 30 feet in the air on a cherry picker.
  • May be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment.

Qualifications:

  • High school degree or GED

Competencies:

  1. Proficient in tracking and managing inventory using systems like warehouse management software (WMS).
  2. Efficient in prioritizing tasks to ensure timely order fulfillment and prevent delays in shipping.
  3. Ability to accurately pick, pack, and ship products to avoid errors such as wrong shipments or missing items.
  4. Competence in using warehouse equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyors safely and efficiently.
  5. Knowledge of quality standards for goods and proficiency in inspecting products for defects, damages, or discrepancies.
  6. Clear and effective communication with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
  7. Ability to recognize potential hazards, such as improper storage or equipment malfunctions, and take corrective actions.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The Team Member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time hourly position, and hours/days of work are decided by production schedules and your reporting manager.
