Job Description:
This position is responsible for all maintenance and repairs of factory equipment, including process machinery such as lathes, drills, mills, grinders, pumps, compressors, electrical motors, CNC, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, heat treating and other auxiliary mechanisms. Also responsible for all maintenance and repair of existing buildings, facilities and grounds or any new builds. Works closely with production supervisors and has frequent interaction and oversight with outside contractors/vendors.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversees plant facilities in a manner that will result in well-maintained buildings and operational equipment
- Responsible for continuous improvement of preventive maintenance and spare parts programs on all production machinery and equipment
- Works with team to ensure management of change process is followed regarding new, modified and/or re-arrangement of equipment, machines, processes, etc.
- Support and assist facility with ISO 45001 and 14001 (environmental, health and safety) and ISO 50001 (energy) including understanding requirements of various local, state and federal regulatory agencies dealing with air and water quality, hazardous materials and disposal
- Directs and schedules the activities and operations of all maintenance personnel and outside contractors/vendors establishing priorities and ensuring all safety policies are communicated and are in compliance
- Responsible for the training, oversight, development and evaluation of all maintenance personnel
- Evaluates equipment purchases and makes recommendations
- Strong oral/written communication skills and detail oriented
- Ability to analyze and solve problems including critical thinking skills
- Computer literate and ability to proficiently use Microsoft Office Systems and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Other duties as scheduled and/or assigned
- Physically mobile and able to safely perform routine tasks (standing, sitting, bending, lifting up to 40 lbs.)
Job Education, Experience and Requirements:
- High school graduate plus maintenance trade school certification (preferably apprenticeship/ journeyman certified in machine repair or electrical trades) or ten years as a maintenance technician (tradesman) in a manufacturing facility
- Must have the ability to analyze, prioritize, motivate and direct a maintenance staff.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of industrial maintenance principles, practices, methods, processes, tools and equipment
- Requires extensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, building codes, safety and environmental regulations and facilities planning
