Follow Trident on the Web at www.tridentseafoods.com or on social media on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube or LinkedIn Summary: The Director of Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing, updating, deploying, and administering EHS policies, procedures, programs, and strategies to achieve world class EHS performance and full regulatory compliance in areas of safety, environment, and industrial health. This position will lead a team of 2-5 direct reports. This position will support Alaska Operations and the shore-based facilities. This position will collaborate with onsite EHS professionals, operations leadership, engineering, and other key stake holders. Key Responsibilities:
- Partners with Plant Management, Human Resources and Site Safety and Environment staff to deploy and implement Trident EHS processes, policies, and strategies.
- Oversees executing comprehensive EHS audits. - Both internal and regulatory audits to identify risks and appropriate actions required to facilitate a continuous improvement culture and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Provides guidance to EHS leaders, and Operations leaders to develop, implement, and maintain a world class Environmental Management System (EMS) - center-led programs, policies, and procedures, with appropriate risk assessment.
- Develops and oversees procedures and mitigations to identify and address areas presenting hazard or risk.
- Develops and implements training programs to cover emergency procedures, environmental compliance, workplace safety, and other areas consistent with governmental regulations and business needs.
- Ensures compliance by overseeing Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulatory shifts other regulatory related activities and procedures.
- Investigates fatalities, serious injuries, spills, non-conformance events, and near misses that occur at company facilities. Reviews company accident statistics and makes recommendations for correction of problem areas.
- Provides strong leadership to direct reports and manages the development of team members. Removes roadblocks, pushes communications, encourages, and assesses performance. Embraces problem-solving as a learning experience.
- Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
- Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety training.
- Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

This is a salaried exempt position with an annualized salary range of $130k to $175k. Trident Seafoods offers a comprehensive and quality benefits package. Minimum Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of increasing responsibilities in EHS and/or environmental & safety programs in manufacturing, production, or a related industry
- Experience designing, implementing, and managing EHS management systems, including collecting and analyzing data to identify trends, risks, and mitigation opportunities across facilities
- Ability to travel 25 - 50% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant subject such as Health, Safety, Environmental Science, or Industrial hygiene, or other relevant technical fields (or equivalent combination of education and additional experience)
- A minimum of 2 years of leadership experience, such as leading projects or coordinating the work of others
- Working knowledge of all applicable local, regional, and federal requirements for environment and Safety compliance
- Ability to establish and evaluate strategic goals and metrics for measuring success.
- Strong collaboration, analytical, influential, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site management.
- Strong working knowledge technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Work environment (includes travel/on-call):
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; time at Alaska shore plants is required.
- At times the employee will be required to travel in wet, cold environments.
- This position is based in Seattle with frequent travel along the Interstate-5 corridor (between Bellingham and Tacoma and Alaska.
Physical demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
