Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Quality Improvement Manager, Clinical Quality + Effectiveness.

In this role, the successful candidate Under limited supervision of the director the Quality Improvement Project Manager provides independent leadership and actively promotes a culture of quality and safety throughout NYU Langone Health including internally generated projects and projects required by external regulatory and other entities

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Provide leadership on clinical quality performance measurement and improvement activities in the Department of Clinical Quality and Effectiveness.
  2. Collaborate with other entities within and outside of NYULH (Patient Safety and Risk Management; Regulatory Affairs; Patient Relations; Health Information Management; Nursing Quality; Finance; IPRO; etc.) to efficiently improve quality while complying with hospital regulations.
  3. Manage complex multidisciplinary interdepartmental and inter-organizational projects, and project teams as determined by departmental leadership.
  4. Utilize clinical critical thinking for ongoing medical record review and abstraction.
  5. Manage and maintain project plans and documentation of project progress, tracking key milestones using standardized project management tools, in accordance with departmental and organizational guidelines.
  6. Provide support to departmental and organizational leadership on special projects and committees.
  7. Design and conduct regular and thorough assessments of clinical data quality prior to data submission, in response to external data quality reports.
  8. Assure timely and accurate data submission to regulatory and external quality performance measurement entities.
  9. Serve as a representative of the department at internal and external project workgroups and stakeholder meetings.
  10. Review and present reports, both oral and written, to a variety of audiences, concerning current organizational performance.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelors Degree in pertinent field nursing; clinical informatics; public health; health care administration; or similar field with at least three five years of relevant experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience Experience with structured medical record review and abstraction including evidence of superior abstraction reliability Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams working with professionals with a variety of skills and backgrounds Proven ability to design complex quality performance measurement and improvement initiatives Utilize tools and techniques of quality performance measurement including: measure design; data sources; data management; data analysis; and graphic display of results Familiarity with clinical information including diagnostic coding and clinical databases Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office including proficiency in Word Excel and PowerPoint Excellent written and oral communication skills for a variety of audiences.

Required Licenses: Registered Nurse License-NYS

Preferred Qualifications:
Clinical certification RN NP PA preferred Advanced skills in performance improvement and time/change management Familiarity with other database and analytic tools a plus

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $117,107.95 - $160,524.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
