Encova Insurance will have a need for an Intern, Product Actuarial and an Intern, Corporate Analytics for our Columbus, Ohio office. These are both full-time summer internships for summer 2025 and will require someone who can work at least 40 hours per week. Start and end dates will be based on availability and business need. You will have the option to work a hybrid schedule from our corporate office location. Must be currently enrolled and have completed at least 60 credit hours with an accredited college or university.

Pay=$22.00 per hour

JOB OBJECTIVE:
The Product Actuarial or Corporate Analytics Intern will perform tasks, projects and research in support of areas including pricing, underwriting, data analytics, profitability reporting, and/or Enterprise Risk and Capital Modeling. These two positions will provide meaningful and impactful support to the Product Actuarial unit and business teams, or to the Corporate Analytics team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Develop rate indications following standard actuarial practices.
* Review specific components of rating plans using internal profitability data and competitive analysis.

* Prepare rate filings and work with state insurance departments as needed to gain regulatory approval.
* Assist in execution, maintenance, and expansion of management reports and analytics under direction of team

* Develop tools for monitoring business performance and risk identification

* Contribute to catastrophe risk management process improvement

* Perform studies to aid in the calibration of the economic capital model

OTHER FUNCTIONS:
* Other tasks as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
* Must be currently enrolled and have completed at least 60 credit hours with an accredited college or university.
* Must be actively enrolled and pursuing a degree. Preference may be given to Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or other math related major.
* Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft applications.
* Ability to communicate complex topics to diverse audiences.
* Responsiveness to customer needs.
* Ability to work well with others from various departments and technical backgrounds.
* Ability to multi-task.
* Must be detail oriented
