Summary:

In this role, you will be a valuable member of the Research & Insights team at Vivint. This is an eight-strong team of researchers who work with Vivint customers and other consumers to help inform:

*Product roadmaps, through discovery work and concept testing

*Product development, through usability, value, pricing, and other testing and research

*Product iteration, through satisfaction surveys, interviews, and other methods

*Product naming, branding, pricing, and other marketing decisions

This is a job with a high degree of variety, both in the products and services we research and the methodologies we employ. The research team is well-respected and highly valued within Vivint and the team works in partnership with many key functions internally, including the product, design, engineering, marketing, and leadership teams. The existing team has over 65 years in research between them.

Primary Responsibilities:

*Partner with UX Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and various departments through the organization to plan, prepare and execute ongoing testing and research around prototypes, designs, ideas, concepts, and theories.

*Closely collaborate with and support the rest of the Research & Insights team, working together on projects, sharing best practices, and reviewing each other's work.

*Document, organize, analyze, and archive qualitative and quantitative data.

*Partner with product development teams to synthesize, build visual reports, and socialize findings from research across the organization.

*Participate in educating teams on valid, reliable, and ethical research and testing best practices.

Required Skills:

*A passion for user research, and clearly demonstrated empathy for end users

*Experience conducting usability testing and/or research.

*Knowledge of user-centered design principles.

*Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

*Excellent collaborative skills.

*Highly professional, with the ability to deliver solid work on tight schedules.

*Designing and running surveys, ideally through Qualtrics.

*Running both moderated and unmoderated usability tests.

*Knowledge of presentation and spreadsheet software.

Required Education/Experience:

*Several years of experience running surveys, ideally using Qualtrics.

*Several years of experience running usability tests.

*Several years of experience conducting customer/consumer interviews.

*Several years of experience managing research projects as a sole or lead researcher.
