Who we are and what we do: The mission of the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security is to serve, secure, and protect the people of Tennessee. The department is responsible for ensuring the safety and general welfare of the public through the operations of its six primary divisions: Administration, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Driver Services, Office of Homeland Security, Tennessee Highway Safety Office, and the Tennessee Advanced Communications Network (TACN). Headquartered in Nashville, the department maintains a presence statewide with approximately 2,300 employees working across the state. How you make a difference in this role: The Contracts and Purchasing Manager is responsible for the administration of all professional services contracts along with the oversight of purchasing and procurement functions within the Department of Safety and Homeland Security. This position works to ensure that all contract, purchasing, and procurement activities are conducted in compliance with applicable laws that applicable rules and procedures are followed in the creation and renewal of contracts.
