BASIC FUNCTION:

The Senior First Line Risk and Controls Analyst is responsible for the execution of risk and control initiatives in the first line of responsibility. Thos team is committed to supporting and strengthening first line risk and control activities. This is achieved by effectively partnering across the three lines of responsibility and providing expertise in risk identification, control design, and adherence to regulatory requirements. The Senior First Line Risk and Control Analyst must be able to understand or quickly grasp complex business processes and identify risks in multiple areas including, but not limited to, processes, regulatory compliance, governance, risk management, and technology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Manage and perform first line risk and control self-assessments, planning and execution of control testing with the objective of improving risk management, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance and control effectiveness. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated effectively.

  • Recognize the interconnectedness of risks spanning multiple areas and understand how changes of failures in one area can impact others.
  • Conduct in depth assessments of risk
  • Develop and perform control effectiveness assessments
  • Participates in all phases of risk management
  • Prepare and present reports on risk trends, control effectiveness, and compliance initiatives.
  • Provide input in the establishment and maintenance of department policies and procedures.
  • Leverage an enterprise mindset lens to interact effectively with all levels of employees, leadership, external auditors, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Assist in the management of projects (assignments) and resources to ensure objectives are met and provide clear concise risk and control insights.
  • Monitor and support action plan remediation.
  • Drive innovation and efficiencies with the risk and controls process through process optimization.
  • Evaluate Operational Risk Incidents
  • Provide risk informed insights to influence decision making.
  • Support the First Line Risk and Controls Team in realizing objectives.
  • Stay updated on relevant changes to rules/regulations and other industry news.

LEVELS OF SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED:

Performs no supervisory duties, makes independent decisions; reports to the Executive Head of First Line Risk and Controls within the Chief Delivery Officer's domain.

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, and/or applicable degree, and/or relevant comparable professional experience, and/or professional certifications in lieu of degree is required. Maintains required continuing professional education and development requirements.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial services or related industry in operational risk management, internal audit, or control testing.
  • Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity.
  • Critical Thinker
  • Strong collaborative skills with an ability to interact across all levels leveraging the three lines of responsibility model.
  • Ability to distil information effectively for various audiences.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees, management, external auditors, and other regulatory agencies
  • Review the quality of assignments completed within the department.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to analyze situations, make independent decisions, prioritize to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and be a collaborator in an ever-changing environment.
  • Presents relevant information to Senior Management, Management Committees, and/or the board.
  • Proficient in using standard software and information technology to collect, organize, maintain, and disseminate information. Ability to use technology in new or complex situations.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must have the ability to perform basic office tasks and work in a typical office setting. Employee will be sitting for extended periods of time and accomplishing work at a desk and work at a computer for an extended period. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to adequately convey ideas and collaborate well with a team. Ability to talk and hear, sit and use their hands and fingers, and reach in all directions is essential in performance of the job. Some lifting and moving of items up to twenty-five pounds required. Work during established business hours and may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. Travel required.

FULL-TIME REMOTE: These roles and job functions can be done remotely, while maintaining our strong commitment to customer service and our business goals. Employees are welcome to come to an office to work if needed, and some travel for team meetings will be required.

PAY RANGE:

Minimum $94,660.63 - Max $160,923.07 Annual

This range is reflective of the national salary average for this position and will be adjusted using geographic variance for physical location of the hired candidate. American AgCredit may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.
