ABOUT THE JOB

Manage the administration of all activities necessary to processing payroll. In addition, this position will work closely with the Senior Payroll Specialist. Support organization in several areas of HR including collaboration with HR Team including Director and Generalists, administering employee records, ensuring compliance with tax, labor laws and regulations, and assisting with on-going HR projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Process union payroll and non-union payroll and administer time management system. Review time entry exceptions and address questions from managers and employees.
  • Develop and control all tasks necessary to accomplish the organization's payroll processing objectives.
  • Responsible for payroll tax compliance working with the payroll provider. Keep informed regarding changes to major local, state, and federal regulations. Provide working knowledge of Payroll tax withholding procedures in a multi-state environment.
  • Prepare and balance payroll summaries, administer year end and new year implementations, W-2 forms etc., as required.
  • Develop and provide reports to aid management decision-making on payroll costs.
  • Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll questions and issues.
  • Review department systems to improve processes and procedures; eliminate non-value added activities.
  • Suggest changes in procedures regarding workflow to meet productivity and quality standards.
  • Support HR department in areas related to reporting, FMLA, Worker's Compensation, processes and procedures, and other areas as requested.
  • Work closely with Sr. Payroll Specialist to ensure employee enrollment and payroll deductions are processed timely and accurately.
  • Establish and maintain employee records to ensure that changes are entered correctly and on a timely basis.
  • Perform other miscellaneous related duties, as needed.


      ABOUT YOU:



      • BA or BS degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources or related field preferred and/or equivalent work experience
      • 1 - 3 years full cycle payroll processing experience (knowledge of Ultimate Software preferred). Open to recent college graduates.
      • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
      • Strong problem-solving skills accompanied by excellent oral and written communication skills
      • Ability to work with confidential salary information, as well as other sensitive information
      • Ability to multitask and work well while meeting deadlines
      • Ability to achieve results independently and within a team setting
      • Proactive results-oriented and customer service approach to problem solving
      • Exhibits sound and accurate judgment and displays willingness to make decisions
      • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality
      • Experience with HRIS reporting systems and administration as well as advanced reporting capabilities
      • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications - Outlook, Word, Excel, Etc.


          PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

          Ability to work in an office setting

          No travel required.

          Expected Compensation: $80,000 to $90,000 + 5% bonus eligibility
