Directly managing automation and process control system work packages within capital projects to include planning and follow-up on deliverables, schedule, scope, budget development, safety, staffing, design, procurement, installation, start-up, and project handover. Ensuring that capital projects are planned and executed according to the Novozymes project model and handbook. Establishing and leading effective cross functional project teams in close corporation with User Managers. Collaborate with line of business User Manager to assure that user requirements are effectively transformed into project solutions ensuring adherence to local regulatory requirements, standards and best practices. Establish effective means and methods for handling risk management, change management and stakeholder relations. Select, supervise, and coordinate the use of external engineering firms, consultants, suppliers, and contractors required for project activities and assure their work conforms to project requirements. Understanding of Novozymes Project Management Life Cycle and ability to independently manage automation related projects Understanding of industrial standards for electrical/electronic/optical infra-structure and supporting systems and their implementation Providing or reviewing cost estimate for all automation hardware and software required for capital projects and upgrades Providing and/or coordinating all required automation related project documentation Providing training and training documentation to users and other supporting automation and maintenance personnel Managing the outsourced project activities of third-party automation system design and programming providers to assure NZ standards and quality requirements are met Demonstrating a positive team-work attitude on a consistent basis Utilizing strong communication skills to achieve key project goals. Ensure that all stakeholders in the project process are kept up to date regarding the status of all assigned projects Supporting the NZ Environmental Policy and EQS; assure that the environ-mental impact of changes to processes, equipment, and process materials is assessed prior to implementation
Potentially relevant experience:
Academic degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or degrees in a closely related field will be considered. Previous experience with programming in an object-oriented process control system. A working knowledge of the ABB SattLine or ABB 800xA platform is highly desirable. Must have experience with process control instrumentation, hardware, virtualize environment and communication protocols. Must have experience with the management and oversite of out-sourcing of automation system design and programming to third party providers. Familiarity with Microsoft workstation, VMWare and server operating systems and network communications is highly desirable. Proficient knowledge of personnel computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, SAP, Adept, etc. is required. Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are essential to facilitate close cooperation with internal contacts and project teams. Ability to multitask on simultaneously running projects and activities Candidate must possess the physical ability, visual acuity, and motor skills necessary to perform essential functions of the position, including operating in laboratory and industry environments.
