Hoxworth Blood Center (HBC), University of Cincinnati, was founded in 1938 and serves more than 30 hospitals in 18 counties in Southwestern Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Southeastern Indiana. Annually, Hoxworth collects more than 100,000 units of blood from local donors to help save the lives of patients in area hospitals. Hoxworth Blood Center: Saving Lives Close to Home. HBC is located within the College of Medicine and is the only Regional Blood Center owned and operated by a University in United States.

The University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine, Hoxworth Blood Center, is recruiting for a Quality Assurance/Regulatory Compliance (QARC) Specialist 1 position, to provide support to the Quality Assurance/Regulatory Compliance (QARC) Department and Hoxworth Blood Center (HBC). Ensure compliance of HBC to meet requirements of accrediting bodies and regulations. This position will support the University's mission and commitment to excellence in our students, faculty, staff, and all our activities.

Essential Functions

  • Support the quality programs necessary for maintaining applicable licensure and accreditation; to include but not limited to supplier qualifications, materials release, change control, document control, and record retention.
  • Follow procedures and policies. Evaluate compliance of own and others work.
  • Support Hoxworth Blood Center's safety, cGMP, cGTP, and Quality Plan.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings as requested.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

  • Associate's Degree.
  • Three (3) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

  • One (1) year of experience.
  • Knowledge of computer software and hardware. General understanding of Quality Assurance and Regulatory functions.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
