Job Scope

The Regional Sales Director is a critical leadership role responsible for driving the performance and growth of a regional field sales organization. This role ensures that sales goals are achieved and exceeded across all market segments while fostering a high-performing, engaged, and collaborative team aligned with DiaSorin's values of Respect, Integrity, Collaboration, and Innovation. The Regional Sales Director develops and implements sales strategies, empowers team members to grow professionally, and drives sustainable growth through strong partnerships and innovative approaches.

This position oversees the communication and execution of product sales programs and strategies, identifies new opportunities through market and customer insights, and prioritizes key initiatives to meet organizational goals. The role requires a commitment to compliance with all applicable regulations, including ISO and federal, state, and local requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Sales Strategy and Planning



  • Implement sales strategies and initiatives aligned with Diasorin's vision and business goals across all market segments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive sustainable growth and enhance customer experience.
  • Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities for expansion.
  • Develop and execute short- and long-term regional sales plans, balancing customer needs and business priorities.
  • Partner with Marketing Management to create and implement product-specific initiatives and campaigns.


2. Developing and Growing an Engaged Team



  • Build, inspire, and lead a high-performing sales team through coaching, mentorship, and empowerment.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation within the regional team.
  • Set clear expectations and provide regular feedback to drive continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Align team efforts with DiaSorin's core values, ensuring all interactions reflect respect, integrity, and collaboration.
  • Recognize and celebrate individual and team successes to promote engagement and motivation.


3. Customer and Market Focus



  • Build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, leveraging DiaSorin's product portfolio to meet their needs.
  • Negotiate pricing agreements with a focus on mutual value creation.
  • Ensure the team is prepared to deliver exceptional customer service and address technical inquiries effectively.


4. Performance Management and Reporting



  • Monitor and evaluate team performance to ensure sales targets are met or exceeded.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on regional sales trends, forecasts, and competitive insights.
  • Provide timely updates on key customer activities and results to senior leadership.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions and adjust strategies as needed.


5. Processes and Governance



  • Develop and implement efficient sales processes to improve team effectiveness and alignment with other departments.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.


Education, Experience and Qualifications




  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or Science required; Master's degree preferred.



  • 5+ years of successful sales management experience in a regional or national field organization.



  • Proven expertise in negotiating contracts with healthcare executives in hospitals, health systems, and laboratories.



  • Strong background in managing complex sales processes involving technical products and services.



  • Understanding of infectious diseases, immunology, microbiology, and molecular diagnostics.



  • Familiarity with the laboratory industry and key opinion leaders.



  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications and CRM tools.



  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.



  • Strategic planning and analytical abilities.



  • Strong ability to foster teamwork, collaboration, and a growth-oriented culture.



  • Adept at managing multiple priorities and driving results in a dynamic environment.
