Job Description

Pay Rates: $23.15 - $27.25 per hour.

Primary Responsibilities of Medical Services

  • Treat and Aid TeamMembers with injuries and occupational illnesses using good judgment to properly provide or coordinate first aid and/or follow-up care based on employment related and non-employment related injury status.
  • Determine TeamMembers who need to be transported, then assist in transportation of such TeamMembers in need of medical attention to the appropriate medical facility and advocate for TeamMember and employer with light duty and early return to work programs.
  • Assist management and Human Resources in the application of plant policies and be the eyes and ears for consistency issues: Report issues to management, direct supervisor or the Human Resources Manager.

Electronic Documentation and Paperwork

  • Ensure that TeamMember report of injury is entered appropriately into Origami database. That all documentation is completed and uploaded to TeamMember claim file
  • If the TeamMember is seeking outside medical attention, ensure all Self-Insured paperwork is completed prior to visit.
  • Chart all doctors' notes in Origami software system.
  • Track and chartappointments and progress of each team member.

Computer

  • Accurately and completely input TeamMember information into the appropriate recording log such as Treatment log, Drug Screens and Appointments.
  • Data entry into Origami daily, as needed togenerate reports as required.
  • Process daily call-in log - return call to any TeamMember that appears to report a work-related injury or issue.

Other

  • Communicate with Co-workers, Supervisors, and Superintendents daily concerning TeamMember medical needs.
  • Tour plant daily (as time allows) to assist with Safety and Health inspections and mitigate issues such as hearing protection, blocked doors, fire extinguishers and checking Eye wash stations.
  • Keep First Aid kits stocked every Friday & check AED's (Graveyard EMT).
  • Order and stock all supplies in Medical Services office.
  • Scan records when received for TeamMembers into Origami Software System as they come in.
  • Clean and sanitize office before and after each shift which includes cleaning cabinets, doorknobs. Also, after any ill TeamMembers have been in the office wipe down chairs, desk, doors/doorknobs when they leave.
  • Daily / Weekly / Monthly checks of TeamMembers on light duty
  • Follow up with injured TeamMembers in accordance with the Follow up Process.
  • Assist with hearing tests and Haz Mat physicals.
  • The EMT position may requirework on weekends, overtime or on othershiftsas needed per business needs, to maintain coverage in Medical Services.
Qualifications
  • Current EMT or Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certification and CPR Certification.
  • Legible handwriting.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be detailed oriented and accurate in documentation tasks.
  • Bilingual in Spanish / English or Chuukese/English is an asset.
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of people under stressful circumstances in aprofessional manner.
  • PC & Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Knowledge of OSHA/WISHA Regulations.
