Baptist Health is looking for an Imaging Services Engineer I to join our team. This is a remote position that requires residency in KY or IN

Under general supervision, the Biomedical Engineering Imaging Engineer I services various medical imaging systems, including but not limited to General X- Ray, R & F, Mammography, CT, MRI, and Ultrasound modalities. The objective is to maximize the uptime of the Imaging systems. In addition, the specialist may be tasked for maintenance on other biomedical equipment and serve as a project lead for inventory management. Demonstrates commitment to the quality, philosophy, and values of Baptist Health by maintaining established policies and procedures, organizational objectives, process improvement, and safety standards. Demonstrates the Baptist Health standards in all interpersonal relations.

Essential Duties:

  • In-depth knowledge on the creation/ application of PM procedures to new equipment.

  • Reviews priority status and obtains necessary materials for completion of work order.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of safe and approved troubleshooting techniques on medical devices.

  • Reads schematics and service manuals, consults with vendors and service representatives to assist in troubleshooting.

  • Utilizes test equipment and completes repairs in a timely and cost-effective manner, with patient safety as the primary concern.

  • Performs initial acceptance of new equipment and adds assets into database.

  • Works closely with PACS team to integrate imaging systems with networked applications.

  • Assists imaging staff with study workflow troubleshooting and optimizations.

  • Establishes PM interval for equipment and conducts electrical safety and basic performance check.

  • Performs intermediate-level troubleshooting on general radiology, fluoroscopy, and ultrasound equipment.

  • Performs first-look troubleshooting and repairs on high-complexity modalities (MRI, CT, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Linear Accelerators, etc.).

  • Performs advanced-level troubleshooting and repairs of general biomedical equipment.

  • Participates in planning and deployment of new imaging equipment

Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required

  • Associate degreein Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, or Information Technology with two years' experience

  • Four years BMET / Imaging work with documented vendor specialized training in imaging modalities Or Military Biomedical - Imaging experience
