Job Description

Pay Range: $87,650- $109,575 per year.

3rd shift

Purpose of Position:

Responsible for supervising all direct sanitation activity to meet Company food safety, quality, cost and people objectives. Coordinates and manages personnel responsible for maintaining equipment, machinery and work areas in a clean and sanitized condition while complying with USDA, FDA, HACCP and S.S.O.P standards and requirements.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform frequent on-the-job inspections: safe working habits, safe work areas, quality of workmanship Evaluate, prioritize and schedule sanitation functions to ensure timely completion of plant clean-up.
  • Routinelyinspect equipment for proper cleaning and work Pre-op with USDA inspectors
  • Train and monitor hourly employees taking appropriate disciplinary action as required
  • Supervise chemical material usage to ensure proper usage to ensure adequate inventory and eliminate wasteusage of chemicals.
  • Develop and implement new methods, procedures and systems to improve food safety, sanitation and cost and to meet compliance with all regulatory agencies such as USDA and FDA
  • Ensure a safe work environment and take appropriate corrective action as needed, conducting safety training.
  • Provide timely feedback to immediate supervisor regarding problems with sanitation, quality, safety, down time and regulatory issues
  • Must evaluate and create needed S.S.O.P.'s
  • Must work closely with PCO to prevent and eliminate pest issues in the plant
  • Attend training as required, including Quality Control, Human Resources, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, technical, or related discipline preferred, or applicable equivalent experience
  • Must have 3 years food manufacturing experience, with two years in a shift management or sanitation management role; work experience with USDA, FDA and HACCP preferred
  • Must demonstrate strong leadership skills and ability to act independently
  • Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work
  • Must demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to read, write and understand English; Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Must have strong mathematical background and be able to perform calculations on quality, productivity, time cards, reports, etc.
  • Must be able to evaluate employees fairly and objectively; must possess strong human resource skills
  • Must have the ability to understand and deal effectively with a multitude of regulatory requirements
  • Must be able to stand on the production floor for varying amounts of time with or without accommodations
  • Must be able to submit and pass a criminal background check
