Job Summary

Provides health care services applying X-ray energy to assist in the screening of breast disease. Performs breast imaging, bone densitometry, computer processing, and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed independent practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Recognizes various patient conditions to provide appropriate patient care, ensuring successful completion of the exam or procedure.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Foster a collaborative and professional working environment with coworkers and other departments.
  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies and procedures, maintaining a high level of department efficiency.
  • Plan and manage patient flow and staff schedules to optimize operations.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images and ensure accurate documentation of images.
  • Perform routine quality control checks on imaging equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Monitor patient safety and comfort throughout imaging procedures.
  • Verify patient information, including medical records and orders, before exams.
  • Assist radiologists and providers during exams and procedures as needed.
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation in the electronic health record.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited imaging sciences program.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in radiologic technology.
  • Licensure & Certifications:
    • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
    • Current Commonwealth of Kentucky Radiation License.
    • BLS
  • Must obtain Post-primary Registry in Mammography (M) within one year.
