Dorsey's Seattle office is accepting applications from first-year and second-year law students to become a 2025 patent summer associate. An undergraduate degree and background in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or software engineering is required.

During the summer program, you will:
- Gain exposure to the full breadth of U.S. and foreign patent prosecution;
- Hone your legal writing skills;
- Have the opportunity to work on a variety of pro bono matters;
- Gain exposure to the remainder of Dorsey Seattle's practice areas - IP Litigation; Corporate; Trial; Labor & Employment; and Tax, Trusts & Estates;
- Receive formal feedback and mentoring;
- Participate in numerous seminars and training events hosted by Dorsey U, our in-house professional development group; and
- Establish meaningful relationships with your summer associate colleagues and Dorsey attorneys through professional opportunities, networking, and a variety of social events.

The pay for this position is $3,940 per week in Washington State. This is a temporary position with limited benefits eligibility. Summer associates receive paid holidays, access to wellbeing programs and activities, 24/7 employee assistance program, and mass transit benefits (certain offices). As applicable, summer associates may be eligible for relocation assistance. (Some benefits are subject to eligibility criteria and may result in taxable income to the recipient.)
