Job Description Title - Network Engineer Contract to Hire - 6 months Salary - $110K max Location - 4900 N Scottsdale Rd Suite 5000, Scottsdale, AZ 85251 OR San Diego OR Denver, CO OR Houston, TX OR San Francisco, CA OR Princeton, NJ 100% Remote Degree is Required for this position (ideally in IT, Telecom, Network Engineering) 2 Interviews Client JD: Job Description: Reporting to one of the IT Managers at Clearway Energy, the role of the Network Engineer is a key member of the Network Operations team. The Network Engineer is responsible for supporting IT and OT infrastructure across wind/solar/bess sites as well as data center and corporate offices. Additional responsibilities include network security, network configuration, network design and optimization, administering network monitoring/management tools, producing technical documentation, developing automation, fault/problem resolution, hardware and project lifecycle management, and the implementation of network security solutions. This role also coordinates the delivery of development and production projects that meet quality assurance standards. Assist and lead technical teams in design and development tasks. Participate in the implementation of technical solutions for Plant Network Operations Maintain and manage network hardware inventory across Clearways fleet, data center and corporate offices Responsible for quarterly network patching, including coordination with business partners and implementation following Clearways change record guidelines. Coordinate, identify, prioritize, and manage Clearway operations support technology tasks. Contribute to project planning efforts including testing procedures and documentation, system documentation, and user training, while coordinating and communicating with business resources. Implement system enhancements and new systems through the project life cycle ensuring appropriate documentation and processes to ensure compliance. Manage support tasks and projects that will deliver systems and applications to support Clearway Energys infrastructure Install, implement, support, and enhance systems and applications related to Solar, Battery, and Wind farm SCADA systems and Integration of plant systems into Renewables Operations Energy Management and Business Intelligence Systems and NERC-CIP compliance. Proactively recognize and document business process gaps, and propose, and implement improvements. Coordinate with vendors to ensure projects/new requests are implemented to standards for new implementations and for upgrading or enhancing existing projects. Effectively communicate project and technology delivery expectations to cross-functional team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Ensure quality of technical support with appropriate Quality Assurance methodologies. Maintain appropriate status reports and meeting minutes and follow up with business partners and technical resources. Review deliverables before delivery to the business for production support. Manage network monitoring systems and tools such as SolarWinds, MRTG, Cisco SNTC, Cisco Defense Orchestrator, Wireshark, Cisco ISE, Cisco WOM, IPAM, and Umbrella Ensures project and technology documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately. Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation once a month. Skills/Experience: 5+ years of IT network infrastructure design, development, testing and deployment experience 3+ years of experience with installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting Cisco routers, switches and firewalls Experience with creating and understanding documentation and technical drawings Understanding of IT methodologies, processes, and project management is required Layer 2: Ethernet, Switching, VTP, DTP, STP, PVST, CDP, ARP, VLAN is required Layer 3: ICMP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IPv4/IPv6 is required Layer 4: TCP, UDP is required Implementations: Subnetting, LAN, VLAN, Inter -VLAN routing, ACLs, Nat, Static Dynamic routing, wireless network configuration is required Other networking protocols: DNS, DHCP, NAT is required Ability to travel across the U.S. requiring up to 35% travel Ability to participate in the 24x7 on call rotation once a month If you dont meet 100% of the above qualifications but see yourself contributing, please submit your resume Required Skills: Bachelors degree is required, preferably in Network Engineering 5+ years of IT network infrastructure design, development, testing and deployment experience. 3+ years of experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls. Experience with creating and understanding documentation and technical drawings. Enterprise experience working with Cisco and Palo Alto Understanding of IT methodologies, processes, and project management is required. Understanding of disaster recovery principals Layer 2: Ethernet, Switching, VTP, DTP, STP, PVST, CDP, ARP, VLAN required. Layer 3: ICMP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IPv4/IPv6 required. Layer 4: TCP, UDP required. Subnetting, LAN, VLAN, Inter-VLAN routing, ACLs, Nat, Static Dynamic routing, and wireless network configuration required Knowledge of data center security policies and procedures, penetration testing, and methods of auditing Other networking protocols: DNS, DHCP, NAT required. Ability to travel across the U.S. requiring up to 35% travel. Ability to participate in the 24x7 on-call rotation once a month. Desired Skills: SD WAN technical experience. Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks. Experience with NERC-CIP compliance is preferred Cisco CCNA/CCNP certification. Languages: Python, other programming languages. Systems Administration: Configuration Management using NCM. Experience with OSI Soft PI, Energy Management Systems, and Meter Data Management Systems.
