Overview
The Agency of Transportation (VTrans) is seeking a Civil Engineer for the Roadway Design group of Highway Safety and Design. In this position, the incumbent will perform various duties of highway design including drafting plans, specifications, and calculating quantities for roadway reconstruction, small culvert rehabilitation, and ledge/slope stabilization projects utilizing Microstation and OpenRoads as CADD platforms. Incumbent may also assist senior engineers and technicians in the office as well as participate with field investigations, inspections, and measurements. This position is based in Barre, VT. A hybrid office/telework schedule may be available based on the needs of the Agency. Who May Apply

Duties are generally performed in both office and field settings for which private means of transportation must be available. Fieldwork may involve exposure to hazardous materials, traffic hazards, and construction sites during all weather conditions and may involve traversing rough terrain and bodies of water. Some work outside of regular working hours, including attendance at public meetings, may be required. Strong differences of opinion may be encountered on a regular basis. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, architectural engineering, or related technical field AND four (4) years of engineering experience. Total Compensation
