The Sr. Compliance Auditor acts as a resource to peers, including Compliance Auditors. Document control management, execution of hybrid, remote and onsite audits are part of primary duties. In addition, the Sr. Compliance Auditor may perform data analysis, tracking, interpreting and reporting of audit insights to cross-functional audiences, including leadership.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Serve as a resource to others on the team
  • Become proficient in and execute audits on behalf of partnering audit team(s) as determined by management
  • Create and/or modify audits to align with strategic priorities and objectives as assigned
  • Investigates routine and non-standard requests and problems
  • Lead and contribute to special projects as assigned
  • Train and develop Compliance Auditors and newly hired employees
  • Provide ideas and recommendations on process improvements, team building, etc.
  • Develop and maintain documentation (e.g., presentations, job aids, procedures, manual, etc.)
  • Conduct remote, hybrid and onsite regulatory compliance-based internal audits within ORx by collecting evidence to verify conformance or nonconformance to the audit criteria.
  • Record the results of audits performed (e.g., checklist, questionnaire, etc.)
  • Report audit results concisely, objectively, and impartially.
  • Maintain confidentiality of audit information and report any conflict of interest to management
  • Manage and prioritize assigned audits to meet mandated turnaround times
  • Understand the audit purpose, scope, and criteria being audited against.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., BOP, FDA, DEA, CMS, and HIPAA)
  • Demonstrate knowledge of applicable medical/pharmacy terminology (e.g., CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10)
  • Verify the correction of previous nonconformities
  • Remain ethical and adhere to the organization's code of conduct and internal processes/requirements
  • Attend, participate, and routinely host internal meetings (e.g., opening, closing, etc.)
  • Work with business partners to identify and improve pharmacy compliance-related issues
  • Participate and/or facilitate team engagement activities
  • Remain ethical and adhere to the organization's code of conduct
  • Other duties and responsibilities, not specifically described, may be defined or assigned from time to time, consistent with the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the incumbent by management

Required Qualifications:



  • High school diploma (or GED) or 5+ years of experience auditing pharmacies
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in the healthcare industry
  • 3+ years of pharmacy auditing experience
  • Microsoft Office skills: (Word - creating and editing documents, Excel - creating, filtering, and maintaining spreadsheets)
  • Willing or ability to travel by plane, train, and car for a timeframe of up to 8 hours
  • Home location within 45 miles of an International Airport



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience working independently and researching/conducting investigations; must be analytical, self-motivated, goal-oriented, and can successfully investigate complex issues
  • 2+ years of previous Quality experience or demonstrated Subject Matter expertise across multiple Quality areas
  • American Society of Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or equivalent credential(s)



Physical Requirements and Work Environment:



  • Extended periods of sitting at a computer and use of hands/fingers across the keyboard or mouse
  • Extended periods of standing, bending, and twisting at a pharmacy location

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $58,300 to $114,300 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
