The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for performing support duties for the employment and hiring process. In approaching areas of responsibility, employee must be able to independently evaluate most appropriate course of action and to determine best option. Duties will vary depending on process but will involve serving as the intermediary with employees, managers, and outside individuals to provide interpretation and advise on policy/procedural information, and performs routine problem resolution or referral on matters pertaining to employment and hiring process.

You will also review, process, and route a wide range of incoming human resources documentation and update HRIS and other systems as required. You will serve as a subject matter expert on new hires and transfers with Presbyterian.

High School Diploma or GED
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
• Knowledge of iCIMS, Infor, Workday or other HRIS systems preferred.
• Additional Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilinigual (Spanish/English)
  • Experience in Human Resources with the onboarding process of new hires and transfers.
  • Experience in collecting invoicing information for credit card payments.

• Serves as intermediary and expert in the hiring process including giving hiring guidance to candidates, hiring managers, recruiters and employees.
• Complete invoicing.
• Process employee referrals.
• While exercising independent judgement in determining correct payouts based on different levels of programs.
• Relocation reimbursements: Independent thinking in determining what qualifies or what does not qualify for reimbursements according to policy and IRS guidelines.
• Arrange Travel: Reviewing and determining appropriate travel expenses in relation to PHS travel policy.
• Compliance with reporting obligations to the NM Department of Labor.
• Ensures compliance with the New Mexico Department of Healths Criminal History Screening Program.
• Independent review of background checks to secure all credentials necessary before moving forward in the hiring process.
• Review in Drug and Alcohol, Driving Policies against requirements for the job. Determine if qualifications are met or not met in order to move forward with the hiring process.
• Utilizes human resource information systems to process and document hiring or transfer actions.
• Independent problem solving resolution within specialty team to ensure resolution.
• May be cross trained to other HR functions to assist when needed for peak volumes.
• Serve as a link between management and employees by responding to questions, interpreting and administering policies and procedures and helping resolve work-related problems.
• Uses all available resources to respond to incoming requests in an effort to assist customers with a resolution to their problem/concern.
• Assists in the development of training, documentation of process and procedures, and advises management on functional process improvements to enhance overall level of service to our customers and partners
