THE POSITION

The Bureau of Driver Licensing is seeking a Driver License District Manager to oversee subordinate supervisors at Driver License Centers (DLC) or REAL ID DLCs in the Western Region, specifically the South Pittsburgh District. This position will focus on setting goals and objectives aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the district's centers, while also offering support to field staff. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will oversee the supervisors in daily operations of all DLCs and REAL ID DLCs in the South Pittsburgh District. Your key responsibilities will encompass managing human resources, which includes hiring, training, recognizing, and disciplining both Civil Service and union personnel. You will ensure the equitable administration of knowledge and skills assessments throughout the District. Additionally, you will evaluate the performance and productivity of field employees through direct observations, analysis of productivity metrics, quality assessments, test outcomes, and customer satisfaction surveys. You will also oversee the proper application and documentation of fee waiver codes, ensuring adherence to Fee Waiver Guidelines, and provide training to staff on these protocols. Conducting audits of fee waiver transactions, addressing any discrepancies, and reporting suspected misconduct or fraud to management will also be part of your duties. You will strive to reduce customer wait times, ensuring that no Center exceeds a 30-minute wait. Promoting a customer service policy that guarantees courteous and professional interactions within the District is essential. Furthermore, you will ensure that field management implements controls to maintain consistent service quality and has measures in place to prevent identity fraud and theft. Effective communication of the organization's vision, mission, values, and priorities is crucial, as is managing conflicts among customers, partners, and staff to align on driver exam priorities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 80 hours bi-weekly
  • Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Bridgeville.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Four years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public including one year of supervisory experience over customer service providers; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of supervisory experience over customer service providers.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver's License or equivalent and twenty-one years of age at the time of application.
  • This position requires no suspensions or revocations of a driver's license during the five-year period immediately preceding employment.
