THE POSITION

Join a dynamic team where you will have hands-on responsibility in managing and optimizing cutting-edge building systems that control lighting, HVAC, and building automation systems (BAS). You will work directly with industry experts, including engineers and contractors, and gain valuable experience with top BAS platforms like Automated Logic, Johnson Controls, Delta, and Siemens. This role offers the opportunity to sharpen technical skills through complex troubleshooting, real-time problem-solving, and preventive maintenance tasks. You will be instrumental in improving energy efficiency and occupant comfort by adjusting system settings and implementing energy-saving strategies. Additionally, you will play a key role in in-house projects, contributing to design and implementation plans, all while receiving ongoing professional development and training in emerging BAS technologies. If you are looking for a career that combines technical expertise, impactful project work, and collaboration with top professionals, this role is for you.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role involves close collaboration with engineers, architects, and contractors to design, implement, and oversee building systems that regulate environmental conditions, including lighting and HVAC. Key responsibilities encompass the installation, technical support, and troubleshooting of HVAC, lighting, and BAS. Your duties include diagnosing, resolving, and documenting issues related to BAS software, programming, and mechanical equipment, while also identifying deficiencies for repair or consulting with a supervisor on more complex challenges. Proficiency in various BAS platforms, such as Automated Logic, Johnson Controls, Delta, and Siemens, is crucial for effectively diagnosing and rectifying system-wide malfunctions.

Additionally, your role involves performing preventative and corrective maintenance on pneumatic and Direct Digital Control systems, adjusting components, and troubleshooting hardware, software, communication, and network connectivity issues. Monitoring BAS performance through data analysis to uncover inefficiencies and energy-saving opportunities, while ensuring occupant comfort, is also part of the job. Responsibilities extend to commissioning tasks; training junior staff; keeping abreast of emerging technologies; and aiding in the design and specification development for projects. Your position requires the use of blueprints and schematics for system identification, maintaining accurate documentation of all BAS modifications, and utilizing Commonwealth-issued electronic devices for managing work assignments, all while adhering to department safety protocols. Working conditions may involve the use of ladders, platforms, and occasionally operating a motor vehicle.
