as an ALS Paramedic where you'll
medically support and care for transport patients to other medical/hospital facilities working
closely with EMT's and Critical Care nurses.

Now offering a limited-time $8,000 Sign-on Bonus-
$3,000 after successful completion of orientation and probation; $2,500 after
12 months; $2,500 after 18 months.

Shifts:40 hours/week working 12-hour shifts
(7AM-7PM, 7PM-7AM, 11AM-11PM, 11PM-11AM) with three shifts one week and
four shifts the next, rotating between day and night shifts and including every
other weekend. Self-scheduling available.
Location:Report in/out of Baltimore, MD (by
MedStar Harbor Hospital) or Clinton, MD (by MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital
Center)

Minimum Qualifications:

*Graduation
from high school or Equivalent
*NREMT-P certification required
*Current
NREMT and State Paramedic license for MD and DC (or ability to obtain DC within 30 days after
hire).
*Valid
Driver's License
*BLS
Certification
*EVOC
certification

*Current
valid BLS and PALS certification

Experience:

* 1-2years experience strongly preferred

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Based on assessment of physical, emotional, bio-physical, and spiritual needs, provides direct patient care and evaluates outcomes. Incorporates the principles of patient-centered care.
  • Communicates patient's clinical information clearly and accurately in verbal and written format. Clearly and accurately documents pertinent information in the patient's medical record. Consistently demonstrates effective documentation practices and develops strategies to ensure complete documentation of patient care.
  • Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment of caring for patients and families. Provides basic patient comfort measures during procedures. When necessary, provides environmental support to expedite timely patient admission or transfer. Identifies and acts upon opportunities to improve the environment of care.
  • Delivers expert paramedic care in ambulances to multiple patient types to include adult subspecialties and pediatrics.
  • Collaborates with on line medical control physicians to manage the patient care of complex patients in transport.
  • Participates in the orientation program for new staff.
  • As part of the program's safety management system, provides feedback and participates in program safety initiatives.
  • Participates in MedSTAR Transport safety program.


  • Minimum Qualifications
    Education

    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • Successful completion of the Department of Transportation (DOT) module EMT-Paramedic course. required
    • Completion of an approved emergency vehicle driving course prior to release from orientation. required

    Experience

    • 1-2 years experience as a National Registry Paramedic (NRP) preferred


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Demonstrated ability to precept.
    • Demonstrated high level of clinical competence.
    • Effective interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication.
    • Basic math skills.
    • Basic computer skills preferred.

    This position has a hiring range of $27.75 - $45.57
