Position Overview:

Have responsibility for the technical writing for the engineering group and the organization and coordination of the group's key working documents. This position will work closely with the engineering, OEM component suppliers, installation and field service teams to create installation instructions, repair instructions, parts books, engineering bulletins, product support bulletins, operation manuals and process documentation for our product lines and engineering processes. This would include the expanded use of our 3D Composer software. This position would include taking ownership of key engineering documents and defining policies and templates for that document creation and management.

Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Create Marketing Renderings per established templates
  • Create renderings for E-parts store
  • Create renderings from established product models
  • Create product support bulletins for external customers
  • Maintain organizational structure of documentation
  • Complete renderings in appropriate timing
  • Maintain a reasonable completion rate to manage backlog at an acceptable level
  • Manage and present backlog and completion status in an easy-to-understand format
  • Communicate with other departments to drive projects to completion
  • Performs other duties, assignments and special projects as may be required from time to time


Position Requirements:



  • In depth knowledge of Knapheide Engineering design standards
  • CSWA, CSWP, Sheetmetal and drawing tools certifications,
  • AAS with at least 5 years of related experience or BSME with at least 2 year
  • Solid professor; solidworks composer certification
  • Verbal and written communication skills are essential
  • Must have good analytical and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work with other departments to create concise and detailed documents including instruction / operator manuals along with parts and service documents.
  • Proven technical writing, organizational and project management skills
  • Strong attention to details while working in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently to pre-arranged work schedule and change as roadblocks arise
  • Ability to change tasks as roadblocks arise


Physical/Mental Requirements Needed to Perform the Essential Functions of this Position:

Normal standing, bending, walking, lifting in an office environment. The ability to verbally communicate with individuals is essential.
