JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Funded undergraduate researcher positions in Li Reactive Water Group, Penn State University

@LiReactiveWater.bsky.social, Google scholar, https://lireactivewater.wixsite.com/group

Li Reactive Water Group has open position available for undergraduate researchers in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Penn State University, University Park. We are looking for motivated students who are curious and interested in resolving pressing water challenges that our society faces today. Our research questions focus broadly on understanding and predicting water quantity and quality response to a changing climate, including climate extremes (wildfire, droughts, and floods), and human perturbation (e.g., urbanization, agriculture). We have multiple collaborative projects focusing on these questions in watersheds across gradients of climate, vegetation, geology, and human perturbations. We use a combination of big data, process-based hydrology and reactive transport modeling for in-depth understanding of mechanisms in individual watersheds / rivers, and machine learning / deep learning tools for identifying trends and patterns at the regional to global scales. Students will work in interdisciplinary, collaborative, and diverse teams. Students from various disciplines in Earth and Environmental Science, engineering, and related fields are invited to apply. We welcome applicants with diverse academic, ethical, and cultural backgrounds, and strive to nurture an inclusive and growing group culture.

The Pennsylvania State University is committed to and accountable for advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and sustainability in all of its forms. We embrace individual uniqueness, foster a culture of inclusion that supports both broad and specific diversity initiatives, leverage the educational and institutional benefits of diversity in society and nature, and engage all individuals to help them thrive. We value inclusion as a core strength and an essential element of our public service mission.

CAMPUS SECURITY CRIME STATISTICS:
